    Unable to disable “Install Windows Updates and ShutDown” option in Start Menu

    I use Windows Vista in my System. I see that, updates get installed on my System. But, I do not want the option “Install Windows Updates and Shut Down”. I need to disable it. I tried, but could not make it. Please, anyone help me in solving the problem. Thankyou in advance.

    Solution:

    Click Start and type “run”. Hit enter.
    Type “regedit” and hit Enter.
    “Registry Editor” opens.
    Go to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Win dows”.
    Create a new Key “Windows Update” under “Windows”.
    Create other new Key under it as “AU”.
    Double - Click on the “AU” in the right hand side and create new DWORD NoAUAsDefaultShutdownOption.
    Set the value to ‘1’.
    Restart the System, your Problem is Solved.
