Unable to download attachments from Windows Live Mail

Even though it is possible to send and receive mails through Windows Live Mail in my PC running through Windows 8, I can’t open any of the attachments received through it. Whenever I try for that, I keep getting the warning message saying “Prohibited file type” on the screen. How can I get rid of this issue?

Press that ‘Start’ button and locate search box from the start menu. Type Mail into that box and make a single click on ‘Windows Live Mail’ option. Select the ‘Home’ tab afterwards and click on ‘Junk’ option. The next step required is to click on ‘Safety options’ available on the screen. Then, press the ‘Security’ tab and locate the ‘Virus protection’ label. You can find ‘Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus’ option under this label. Clear off the checkbox next to this option and hit the ‘OK’ button.

    Hello My Dear Friend ...

First of all " Click the name of the Attached file in the Attachment area just below the message's recipients and above the message text "

    Then click SAVE option

To download all documents attached to a message compressed in to a Single Zip file

Click Download all Attachments in Messages attachment area

Save or Directly open the Zip file named like the message;s subject line
