Unable to install windows 7 because my computer is asking me to choose a specific copy

I am using windows 7 but it is showing a lot of problems like many hang ups, Issues with Applications etc so decided to reinstall windows 7 again. I started the installation process as well but it is asking me to choose the copy which can be used to boot. As far as i think, the problem is created by old copy of windows 7. Is there any method to delete it?

Yes definitely, you can delete it with ease after installation so perform the installation process by overriding the OS on the previous one.Turn on your windows 7 computer and navigate to the installation drive(Drive where you have installed windows 7). If,You are able to see a folder name windows.old then simply perform a disk clean up. It will automatically delete that file. If the same file appears as Windows then change it to windows.old and perform a disk clean up of the same drive and enjoy.

    Hello friend,

I have the solution for your problem just do as i say................

1.Firstly this problem occurs when some your OS files got corrupted or deleted accidentally.

2.So you perform the 'BackUp' in your computer to get back the lost files.

3.Even if the problem is not fixed then you try to turn on 'Error Checking'.

4.Then your restart your computer and while staring your computer will perform the 'Error checking'.

5.If the problem is not fixed insert the Windows 7 OS Cd in to your computer.

    6.Then you repair your computer.

7.It will bring back all the lost files of your OS.

hi my dear friend, ...there is a simple method ....to delete the old copy that is

first insert the DVD in to the ROM and restart the computer

and press the delete key while it starting up ......and select the MENU and go to the BOOT MENU by using the navigation keys

in that select boot option1 and save the settings and restart it

then the pc automatically bootup with CD .......and follow the simple instructions ..

AND AT THE PARTITIONS STEP FOLLOW THESE:

at the partitions step click on the DRIVER OPTIONS ( advanced ) then there is a window like this
7+How+to+install+Windows+7.jpg then select the previous ( already installed drive ) and click on the format option

then the Drive will be completely formated.............after that select that Drive and click NEXT

Re: Unable to install windows 7 because my computer is asking me to choose a specific copy

    Hi,

By deleting Windows.old can solve the problem as the boot manager is confused by getting a couple of copies of the Windows booting Info both of which can be used.

Another suggestion is to take a backup of all your important data, provided you have an original copy of Windows7, format the drive, clean Install Windows7.

This will give you a long lasting solution rather than repairing the existing installation.

    Thanks.
