    Friend, Follow These Steps:

First try to clear the Cache.

Click Start> Programs> Accessories> Right Click on Command Prompt, Select "Run as Administrator" and it opens Command Prompt.

In Command Prompt type "ipconfig/flushdns" > Press Enter.

    Reboot.

You can also try by downloading and installing HijactThis HERE.

Run it and Select "Do as a System Scan" and save a logfile from the Main Menu.

This log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and Paste the log in your next reply.

    hi!!!
first of all to update windows you have to ensure that your windows is geniune. If you are using crack then you can't update windows so maybe that is causing problems.
2nd of all is your internet working otherwise.Other sites opening or not?If not then maybe something wrong with your internet connection.

If you are not facing the above two obstacles then simple you go to start and in search program type 'windows update' and press enter.
The windows update dialog box opens and wherein you can see the various options of updating and try to update fro here.))))))))))

Re: Unable to open any website in Windows Vista Home Basic.

click to open network troubleshooter. If running the Network troubleshooter didn't solve the problem, then follow the steps described.

Make sure that all wires are connected (for example, make sure your modem is connected to a working phone jack or cable connection, either directly or through a router).

If the problem began after you installed new software, check your connection settings to see if they've been changed.
click to open network connection. Right-click the connection, and then click Properties

Check your router. Because of the new networking features in Windows Vista and Windows 7, some older network routers aren't fully compatible with these versions of Windows and can cause problems. You can test your router to see whether it's fully compatible by running the Internet Connectivity Evaluation Tool online. Or, for a list of routers that are compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7, go to the Windows Compatibility Center website.

Re: Unable to open any website in Windows Vista Home Basic.

I thing firstly you should be sure that your computer is capable to run windows 7.
So check your Computer hardware configuration. But if you are thinking to upgrade
your windows 7 without format your Vista then you can not do this. You need to install
    it manually.

Minimum requirement for running windows 7 on your system is
    1. One gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
    2. One gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
    3. 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit) DirectX 9
    4. graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
If your system have these Configuration then you can install Windows 8.
As your Browser is not opening your websites then do following thing:-

    1. Clear all history of your browser.
    2. Reinstall the browser
After doing this i thing your problem will be solved.
    All the best.

    Dear,

It may be due to the certificate error, if it is certificate error problem then you can click on the Continue option. It may be problem on the Connection on the wires or may be the IP Address problems. So firstly check all these issues. Clear all the history of the browser and reboot the computer. Set the IP configuration of the computer, or make a new setting of LAN from The control panel click on the Network Setting. Try these all these. All the best.

You will have to ensure whether your Internet connection is working properly or not.
Then, try to open any site in any web browser. If it opens, then connection is ok.

Now, if you want to update your windows then firstly ensure that your windows is genuine. If it is genuine, then only you can update your windows.
Otherwise, it will create problem for your windows to update it.

    Hello,

Try installing and using other web browsers.
They are better and faster than the internet explorer.
Also you can import your data from the internet explorer to the new browser.

There is a problem in your internet configuration.
Certificate issues wont come for all the websites.
So what you need to do is type internet options in the search and select it.

In internet options change the configuration as the data provider given to you.
Then save the settings and reboot your machine.

Re: Unable to open any website in Windows Vista Home Basic.

The things you can do to correct this problem is :-
Firstly you delete all the cache file (specially coming from other sites) present in your system.

Then you have to reinstall the browser file which sometimes create problem due to errors and viruses generated inside your browser.

You also have to scan your computer with the help of good antivirus available in market....right now "microsoft security essential"

Now you are able to open all the websites......

Re: Unable to open any website in Windows Vista Home Basic.

    Hello friend,

I have the solution for your problem just do as i say...............

1.Firstly check that you have the correct internet connection.

2.Then you check that your browser is working finely or not.

3.So you once uninstall the browser and install it again.

4.If that is also not your problem then the problem is with the DNS Cache.

5.You open the Command Prompt in 'Run As'.

6.There you type 'ipconfig/flushnds' and then press 'Enter'.

7.And all the cache will be removed now and your problem will be resolved.

    Have a nice day....................
