Unable to open the Device Manager in Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

I don’t have a proper drivers for my Windows 7 wireless so when I tried to check it with the device Manager I got the error message as “MMC cannot open the file C:\Windows\System32\devmgmt.msc. This may be because the file does not exists or it’s not a MMC console or was created by a later version MMC. This can also be you do not have sufficient access rights to the file”. Can you tell me how to fix this and open up the Device Manager in my Windows 7 PC?

    HELLO GUEST

    1. Click on the Start button and then choose Control Panel.

    2. Click on the System and Security link.

    3. In the System and Security window, click on the Device Manager link located under theSystem heading.

    4. You can now use Device Manager to update device drivers, view the system resources that a hardware device is using,
    etc.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks
    Regards Libin

    Hey friend,
The error you are facing is may be due to 2 reasons:-
-either file is corrupted or deleted.
-You dont have access permission to the device manager.

To solve this problem you have to just download the MICROSOFT FIX IT program and install it.
Run this program and it will automatically solve such issues of missing files
    Or
Solve the problems of corrupted files.

Hope this solution will help you.

    3. in that choose the Administrative tools

    4. and in that click on the computer management short cut

    dear friend,

Recovery console properly works when .NET Framework 2.0 installed correctly.

Search for .NET Framework 2.0-if this is missing or corrupted, repair it.

Before that, change the settings to perform clean boot so that other software can't interrupt Device manager settings.

To perform clean boot follow these steps-

Open the RUN window by pressing Windows key+R.

Type msconfig in the edit field & press enter.

In System configuration window, select the general tab & check the selective startup option.

Uncheck the load startup items checkbox.

Go to the services tab & check the box beside "Hide all Microsoft services" option.

Now click on Apply + OK & reboot your computer to make clean boot.

After repairing, restart your computer & open the run window by pressing Windows Key+R.

Type devmgmt.msc in the edit field & hit enter.

It'll open the device manager window.

Also you can type device manager in the serach field & press enter to open it.

Hope this info will help you.
