Unable to open some files in windows 7 due to ownership issues

I am windows 7 user and have recently transferred data from my Hard disk. I am able to open almost all files except some files. When i try to open some files, it shows an error related to ownership. I am logged in as Administrator but it shows that i don't have permission to access that file.

Since you are facing problem due to ownership issues, you need to take the ownership of that file to access it. To change the ownership of file in windows, right click on that particular file and click on "Properties". After that, move to "Security" tab and then navigate to "Advanced" option to open "Advanced security settings for .." dialog box. In the same window, click on "Owner" Tab and then on "Edit". It can ask you to provide Administrator password so don't hesitate to provide the same. Now In the same window( "Advanced Security Settings for..") , in "change owner to" box select your username and check the option which shows "Replace owner on Subcontainers and objects" and click ok button. After that repeat the same process for all the remaining boxes. If you are not able to find your username in the list then click on "Other users or Group" button and add your username from there. Now try to open the same. You would be able to open the file without any issue.

    Hello friend..

you need to remove the ownership issue in the file then you open the file..

Follow these steps to remove the ownership..

Right click the file then Select the Properties option..

Open the Properties windows, select the security tab..

Here you see the Permission for Administrator then click the all the Deny checkbox option then you click on the allow option..

    Click the Ok button..

finally you open the all the file..

    all the best!!
