Unable to play .aac audio files in Windows media Player

My friend recorded some Audio and transferred it to my Laptop. Previously I was able to play these kind of Audio using Windows Media Player but now When I tried to play it in windows media player, it flashed an error "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or a required codec might not be installed on your computer.". What is creating the problem and what should I do to solve this issue?

Re: Unable to play .aac audio files in Windows media Player

    Hi,
assuming you have the latest version of WMP, along with latest windows, your problem is occuring because of a missing codec, which is rendering your WMP to be inactive. so add ORBAN AAC/ aacplus plug-in , the codec and your WMP will be enabled with the power to play all .aac files.

    Hope to see you grooving.

    dear friend,

It seems like some codec is missing from your windows media player.

So go to the settings & set all the options default.

If this doesn't make any solution then go to microsoft.com.

Download original media player & re-install it.

    Hope this will work surely.

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or a required codec might not be installed on your computer." This error occur when windows Media Player not supportable this file type because Window Media Player support not more media file type.

so you need to play this type to download one of the VLC, GOM Player, Video Player and Win amp and this file type may be high version and run in low version so Windows Media Player Create a error

    Thanks

    hii

If you are not able to play .aac audio files into your media player and getting error as "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or a required codec might not be installed on your computer." then it might be possible because of the unavailability of codecs into your PC to play these files ..

As you know that every software or program has its own capabilities and limitations ...
Just like this your windows media player also has some limitations but in your case it seems like the necessary codec is not installed into your PC ...

So, first download and install the required codec from the microsoft website as it will be safe and trustworthy place to download the software...
Also make sure that your windows media player version supports these type of files or format ...

Just try this and i am sure you will be able to play the audio files with ease ..

    thanks
