am trying to remove the FBI virus through system restore. The system is hung up with the message "Please wait while your windows files and settings are being restored. System restore is initializing." I have tried to start in safe mode by pressing F12 and from a recovery disc by pressing F8 on restart but the computer keeps taking me back to that same screen. It just sits there and a little symbol spins. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The proximity of error in your system is such that you will be prudent enough if you decide to install the operating system freshly.
I am talking about a format then installation of the operating system, to remove any traces of the virus if any in the system.
Use an original copy of the OS and use custom setting to install afresh.

Hey here is the solution for your problems.
Just follow the following steps to remove FbI virus:-
1) Open the computer in safe mode.
--> Click "Restart" on the computer, while starting of system press "F8" continuously and then select safe mode.

2) Download this software on the other computer and copy it to flash drive. Below is the links for downloading anti malware.
For:- 32bit, 64bit
Download it and put it in a flash drive, now press "Ctrl+o" and press ctrl untill a windows open, pressing ctrl leads to stop the malware to interfere.
Now open the flash drive and do "One time scan".
This will solve your problem.
