Unable to save DV-AVI format files edited with Windows Movie Maker 6

I have recently installed Windows Movie Maker 6 into my PC running on Windows Vista. Even though the application does allow me to edit the films in DV-AVI format, it will crash by itself while saving the edited files. What should I do to resolve this issue?

The first step required is to launch the Windows Movie Maker app on your system. You can find many options on the top part of the application window. Locate the ‘Tools’ option from that group and make a single click on it. This will bring up a small menu on the screen. Navigate through that menu and click the ‘Options’ option. The next step required is to press the ‘Compatibility’ tab visible on the window pop up on the screen. You can then find a list of options along with their check box. Clear all those checkboxes by clicking on it and confirm the changes will be retained. After that, try to save the DV-AVI format files again for checking the issue.
