_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ | What Is Error 0x800CCC0E | -----------------------------------Error number 0x800CCC0E is associated with Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, or Windows Mail. The most common cause for this error to happen is when there is a conflict between Microsoft Outlook and the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol or SMTP. The usual message that is displayed when this error is encountered may be “The connection to the server has failed…”, or “Unable to connect…” You may also encounter messages like:SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number 0x800CCC0EWhen Outlook is unable to connect to the SMTP server, you cannot connect to the internet and send e-mails. One thing you should know about this error is that when you’re logged on to MSN, Microsoft Outlook does not allow you to send relay messages to another SMTP server. Therefore, it seems like your Microsoft Outlook is not connected to the internet.-------------------------------------Fix the error using these steps-------------------------------------1. Firstly, in your Microsoft Outlook menu, open Tools and navigate to the Accounts setting.2. Click on Mail and select the account which you want to change its setting. Then click the Properties button.3. Click on Server and search for the Server Information.4. Under Server Information, erase all the texts in the Outgoing SMTP Mail box and type in smtp.live.com.5. Next, look for the Outgoing Mail Server options and choose My Server Requires Authentication and Settings.6. Under Settings, look for the Login Information option and click Log On Using.7. In the Account Name type in your MSN Member ID. This should be your user name before the @ in your e-mail address.8. In the Password text box, type your password and check the box labeled Log On Using Secure Password Authentication.9. Click the OK button to close all the windows until you’re at the Mail Account Properties box and click OK to close this box too. Finally click Close to complete.
