Unable to turn off PC after upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7

Three days ago, I have upgraded my PC to Windows 7 from Windows XP Professional. Even though it works fine, I am not able to turn off the system by pressing the ‘Power’ button. Is there any solution available for this problem?

Get into the desktop and look for the ‘Start’ button. Once you find that button, right click on it. This will bring up a menu from which click the ‘Properties’ option. You can then find ‘Properties’ window on the screen. Navigate through that window and locate the ‘Power button’ label. Click the drop down list to that label. Then, choose ‘Shut Down’ option from it and press the ‘Apply’ button.

The following is the procedure for solving the problem of unable to turn off PC after upgrading from Windows XP to Windows.

At first you have to go to the start up menu and then press the right click.

Then tap on to the properties option.

Now the 'power button' label is to be finded out which is present in the properties window.

There for the label, you need to press the drop down list.

After that the 'shut down' option is to be tapped.

In Windows 7 goto Control Panel--Power Option,
set the Power Button to Shut Off the system.

Ther might be another problem chances of which are though faint but possible.
the RAM installed in your computer may have voltage issues.

Another possibility for shut off non functioning is a device that may have attached to your system.
Discurd all and try, attach one by one to find if anyone is responsible for the issue ou are confronting.
