Unknown error when trying to install Counter Strike Source game in Windows system

Wanted to install and play the Counter Strike Source game in my Windows system and when I try to do that I just get the error message as “Unknown error”. What might be the reason behind this? Is it not compatible in my Windows system or so? Please provide the information soon. Thanks.

How did you get that game. Did you purchase it or you just downloaded it from internet.
If you have downloaded this is a very common problem because it is not Original DVD or Original Content. So NO PIRACY.

suppose you had purchased and still face this problem then you should check your system in various angles like
    whether system is working Good.
Did all drivers are installed properly.

main thing to check is system requirements to run that game.

below are the minimum requirements to play counter strike
    Pentium 4 1.7Ghz Processor
    GeForce 8400 Graphic card
    512 RAM
    DX8
    HDD space 2GB
    Win XP Operating system.

these are minimum requirements to run the game on any system.

if you meet above requirements then uninstall the game completely and remove all the traces of it from the system.
Restart your system and install the game again.

    happy gaming.
