Upgrade to Windows 7 Rolls Back To Vista

My PC running in Windows Vista seems to be having some issues with the OS upgrade. I recently attempted to upgrade Vista to Windows 7. When the upgrade reaches the last step of transferring programs and settings, it just rolls back. I couldn’t notice the percentage, but this happened two times already. I am sure it reaches 92% though. So how can I fix this problem and upgrade to Windows 7?

Re: Upgrade to Windows 7 Rolls Back To Vista

    DEAR FRIEND,

It might be the problem of Installation Disc or disk drive errors

So, first of all verify whether the installation disk working properly or not

after that go to my computer and right click on C: drive and choose properties

now go to Tolls tab and click on Check now button under the Error-checking category

and also select Scan for and attempt recover of Bad sectors option and click the Start button

and after the completion of process .....try again

And if still the problem persists ... ....simply Go for the General method

that is in place of Upgrade option ... choose CUSTOM option and follow the instructions

    Thank You!!!!!!!

    Hello there !!!!

since your upgrade rolls back to the vista than it mean, your operating system that is windows 7 is
    not properly configured.
by this i meant to say that the OS is either damaged or some files of your operating system is missing due to which
it gets rolled back after the 92% installation of the task during the transferring of the files and settings.

and this might be due to the original file and setting which might be missing in windows 7 itself.

so you have two suggestion from my side :-

    1. re-download the operating system and one more time perform the upgrade.
    2. just clean up all the file system and custom install the windows 7.

hope i am clear to you.
    thanks for posting in EALP.
