    Hi,

Do you have antivirus - antispyware installed in your system , and do you have monitored the system regularly?

Scan the system thoroughly and remove virus if found.

Run the system and check the status of the USB drive.

Install a fresh Universal Serial Bus Driver into the system and you can follow any of the two ways those are possible.

Either log into Microsoft Web Site and download a Driver file from there and install it.

Or, click Start , in the search box write "Device Manager", once "Device Manager" is found click it to open Sound controller and navigate towards the option "Update Driver", click to update and when finished , exit.

    Reboot, and experience.

    Thanks.

    ----------OR follow these instructions

    1
Unplug the USB device from whichever USB port it is currently connected to. Plug the device into a different USB port on the Dell XPS computer to see if the problem is with one specific port.

    2
Open the computer's "Start" menu and click the "Control Panel" option. Choose "Performance and Maintenance" and select the "System" option.

    3
Navigate to the "Hardware" tab and click "Device Manager." Click the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" heading. Right-click the first USB port entry and choose "Uninstall."

    4
Repeat the uninstall process on each USB entry listed under the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" heading. Close the "Device Manager" window and restart your XPS computer.

    5
Follow the installation instructions that appear on the screen when the "Found New Hardware" prompt appears. Remove the USB device and plug it back in. Attempt to use the device to see if the issue is resolved.

    6
Navigate to the Dell support homepage. Click "Select Model" and choose "Desktops." Click "XPS" and choose the specific model of XPS computer you have.

    7
Click the "BIOS" heading and select the download link for the most recent BIOS version. Double-click the BIOS file and go through the installation steps. Restart Windows XP after the installation completes.

    Dear Friend,
*Don't worry. Some time USB Not Properly work and Rusume work between Laptop(or PC) and USB device because in that time data is transfering from USB to Laptop Device.
    >If you don't won't resume work then you can buy pen drive.Pen drive is not take more time as USB Device.

    Regards,
    Dharmesh
