USB Mouse stopped working after upgrading to Windows 8

There is a USB mouse connected to my machine which was running Windows 7, recently after upgrading to WIndows 8 the USB mouse stopped working. I think no power is given for mouse because there is no light blinking beneath mouse. I have tried in different usb ports still no joy. Also tried many restarts.

==> There you can seethe " Organize " option

==> After Right click on it you will find the " Properties " option

==> Now Go to Select on the " Device Manager "

==> You can see the Number of Drivers there at the Last you will find a " USB "

==> After click on it you can see the number of sections in it

==> Try to Update all of these by Right click on it

Again see the Issue if it is not fixed then you can Try to Check the USB ports or you can change the USB driver

    Hello friend,

I have the solution for your problem just do as i say........................................

1.Try to connect any other USB drive to that USB port.

2.If they also do not work then this can be the problem of the USB drivers.

3.So you open the Device manager and then expand the 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers'.

4.Then you open the properties of your USB port and then go to 'Driver' tab and then click on 'Update Driver'.

5.If still you have the problem then it is the hardware problem.

6.Your USB port has damaged now so try to get it repaired to fix this problem.

    Have a nice day................................

    Hello,

Well, there can be two reason behing the failure of your USB Mouse on Windows 8 Operating System. You have just mentioned that the there is no light on your USB mouse, you should visit any of your friend house and connect your USB mouse to any of the USB connector to find out wheather the problem lies with your Mouse or the Windows 8. If the Mouse operates smoothly then the problem lies with your Windows 8 system. Your mouse probably not compatible with Windows 8 so you should try to update your USB Mouse driver to see if it is working or not.

    Bye,

First try to connect the mouse to another system and check whether it's working or not because if mouse runs on windows 7 then it will definitely works on windows 8 also.
Fault is with your mouse only try to get a new one.
I have suggested to have a new one because after restarting, your mouse must work. Since it is not working even restarting means you mouse is not working.

Re: USB Mouse stopped working after upgrading to Windows 8

Effectively, there are 2 cause behing a failure of this USB Computer mouse button for Home windows 8 Doing work System. You have merely stated the there isn't any mild on your own USB mouse button, you need to take a look at your close friend household and fasten the USB mouse button in order to many of the USB connector to learn whether the situation is situated with your Computer mouse button or Home windows 8. If your Computer mouse button runs smoothly then the dilemma is situated with your Home windows 8 system. Your own mouse button perhaps not appropriate for Home windows 8 thus try to keep track of USB Computer mouse button new driver to find out if it is doing work or not.

What you are currently experiencing is a situation due to a missing or corrupt device driver in Windows 8.For fixing the issue, take the following steps :Click Start,Click Control Panel,Click System and Security,Click Device Manager,Click USB Controller,Click Driver,Click Uninstall and remove the driver from Windows 8.again Click Update Driver, browse through the internet and install latest generic driver for USB from Microsoft.Exit and Reboot , now connect the mouse into USB port and things shoud become normal, provided there is no hardware issue in the ports.Try the process.

Re: USB Mouse stopped working after upgrading to Windows 8

    Hi Buddy!!!!

This may be the problem with your USB Mouse.

The cable wire of your Mouse may be damaged internally.

So once check mouse connecting it to other PC and see is it working or not.

If the Mouse is Connected properly to other PC, then that may be the problem of USB ports Failure.

You need to replace the Old USB ports of the system with new one.

But if the mouse is not connected to Other PC also. that is the problem with mouse only.

Buy a new Mouse from near by stores.

    All The Best.

Re: USB Mouse stopped working after upgrading to Windows 8

    Hello there !!!

it might happen that your mouse is not getting the power supply from the
machine and due to this the mouse is not working.

and this might be due to the missing of the usb driver in your machine.
so i will suggest you to look for the driver installed in your system and then
then to connect the usb mouse to the usb port.

also you can try the mouse working by connecting it to other port also.
    and see what is happening.

hope i am clear to you.
    thanks for posting in EALP.
