    Re: Viewing contents of back up files on Windows 7

    You should first of all open Backup and Restore by performing following steps one by one
    • Click on ‘Start’ button
    • Then go to ‘Control Panel’ option and click it
    • Choose the option ‘System and Maintenance’
    • Click on ‘Backup and Restore’
    After that, you should click on ‘Browse for files’ option available in the given list. You can then view individual back up files on your PC. You should first click on ‘Start’ option to search for the file you want. Then, you should type exact or part of file name into the space provided. Click on the ‘Search’ option to find the exact file you want. Then, you can simply open the file and view its contents.

    Back files can be viewed easily.

    Go to Start , click Control Panel
    Now go to -> System and Maintenance -> Backup and Restore.

    Now you can view files by either of the two ways :

    Click " Restore My Files "
    Or else Click " Restore all user's files "

    Now click Browse for files/folders .

    To search the contents of the backup, click Search, type all or part of a filename.

    hi there,

    I regret the inconvenience caused to you. But, the contents of the backup can not be seen without restoring them. You need to restore the backup to see the actual content. Without restoring, you can only see the INDIVIDUAL BACKUP FILES and NOT your PERSONAL BACKED UP DATA.

    If you really want to see the contents of the data backed up, you need to restore it. Here's the procedure :

    * go START
    * go to CONTROL PANEL
    * BACKUP AND RESTORE
    * RESTORE
    * BROWSE FOR FILES

    Best of Luck..!!!
