Volume controls stopped responding on windows based Sony laptop

I am not aware what has happened in the midst, the volume controls of my windows based Sony laptop stopped responding. The worst thing is that the volume was at mute position just before this issue happened. How can I overcome this issue?

    Hi,

The question you have asked is so unclear, i cant find out wheather the problem is with Windows ot the Sony sound button.

Anyway, if your problem is in Windows reinstall Sound Driver from the source you are using, either Windows own driver or any third party driver.

Install using CONTROL PANEL > HARDWARE AND SOUND > DEVICE MANAGER > SOUND VIDEO AND GAME CONTROLLER and update driver from there.

Or if your issue is related to Sony Laptop, go to its site and either contact them or download a update for audio from them and install.

    Check the system for virus.

    thanks.
