Re: What can I do to stop Disk Check cancellation during start up?

    Hi,
There is a way or a few commands which you need to do to cancel the disk checking and you must follow the same procedure as mentioned otherwise there can be data loss.

    Procedure is:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager

In the right hand pane, double click BootExecute.
The default value of the key is autocheck autochk *
    * means every drive is checked for consistency. Just add /K:C at the end before *. /K switch will disable autocheck on C: drive at Windows startup. So the final value should look like this:
    autocheck autochk /k:C *
If you want to add more drives, the key should look like this: (disabling C and D drives)
    autocheck autochk /k:C /k *
If you want to restore everything to default, just replace the key with the default one i.e.
    autocheck autochk *

You may also follow the link given below and check if it is of any help.

    Dear friend,
It is a minor problem that you facing. I think you are using Windows XP or any NT VERSION means below windows vista.
It is happens if you do not turn off your computer properly. It is happens because computer thought you Hardisk is damaged for unproperer shutdown.
Nothing to worry. You must continue scan for one time it will not come again. If it s cancelled it may have two high probability issues

YOU PRESS ANY KEY ON YOUR KEYBOARD.

MACHINE CAN NOT RECOGNIZE YOUR HARD DISK.

IF the first case will happen then fine advise to you when this process will start do not touch your keyboard.

If second problem arise then it will be the thinking condition.
You have to download HIREN DISK from following link

    http://www.hiren.info/downloads/freeware-tools/
    http://www.downtwarez.com/foro/varia...d-v15-1-a.html

After downloading you must burn it to a blank CD.
Then boot your machine from cd .
    Then select hard disk check.
It will perform rest of matter by own.

It is very easy to stop Disk Check cancellation during start up.
    1.First click Start>
    2.click on Run>
3.now typing in "CMD" to bring up a Command prompt and type " fsutil dirty query d: ". This queries the drive, and more than likely it will tell you that it is dirty.
Next, type "CHKNTFS /X D:".The X tells Windows to NOT check that particular drive on the next reboot. At this time, manually reboot your computer, it should not do a Chkdsk and take you directly to Windows.Once Windows has fully loaded, bring up another CMD prompt and now you want to do a Chkdsk manually by typing "Chkdsk /f /r d:". This should take you through 5 stages of the scan and will unset that dirty bit. Finally, type "fsutil dirty query d:" and Windows will confirm that the dirty bit is not set on that drive.

There must be issues involving a corrupt chkdsk.exe file or virus corruption else there is hardly any reason for chkdsk a power tool not working its way out to run.

Check the complete system by a clean Antivirus and remove malicious programs.

Type cmd in the search box after clicking Start.

In the following command prompt, type cd\ and press enter, again type cls and press enter. type chkdsk/f to check the system for any problem and fix for the findings.
