You must have the driver for the webcam.
If you dont have the driver then search the product and the driver details in the internet.
If you located the driver then download and install it.
Once you installed the driver then try to connect your device to the system
Run the appropriate program to take photos or image.
If you need to use in skype then use it .

Re: What to do if my Webcam microphone is not working in Windows PC? What should be the problem? How to solve this?

    1. Either connect your Mic to appropriate jack (don't mismatch with output jack for earphones etc.), or if you have integrated one, go to 2.

    2. In Vista (shall be similar or same in 7, XP)
go to Start->control pannels->manage audio devices (or sounds...)->recording

    3. Either there is listed something or there's nothing. In both cases: right click in the empty area, from context menu make sure that both options are ticked (show disabled, switched off devices - or something like that). Now you shall have listed all devices recognized as Mics.
    a) There is still nothing listed, i.e. you don't have your Mix properly installed and/or recognized. If that's an integrated one, try to get drivers or consider reinstalling drivers. For external one, try to use another if you can or test it elsewhere.
    b) There is exactly one device - just go to 4.
    c) There are more than one device - I would recommend you to try to pick one you believe is correct in your case (e.g. don't pick up external when you're trying to run integrated and so on) and disable all others. You disable them by right clicking on each and then choose something like Disable from context menu. You shall be able to turn them back on if you follow step 3.
If you have no idea which one is supposed to be correct, you may try to pick up just one after another.

    4. Do you still have no Mic listed after 3.? Then what the hell you're still doing here - you're screwed already!
Otherwise, you might be the lucky one. Or screwed too. You're gonna find out that soon. :-)
From the list that shall now contain just one item - one Mic - (you didn't close that window, did you) right click on it and from context menu select Properties. New wnd shall appear, with 2nd tab from left being Levels. Make sure that:
    a) There is nonzero value for Volume bar.
    b) On the icon next to Volume bar the sound isn't marked as muted. Click on it once if it is.
    c) As for the Amplyfier - it's up to you, I recommend you to set it to 0.0dB or maybe 10.0 dB with Volume on 100. Don't know if you can somehow damage you're hw if you set it too high, shall not, but who knows (read botom line).

    5. Close config window with Levels tab (OK button). In the list make sure that device is described as Active/Enabled/Whatever like that, and maybe select the only item in Mic list and click button Make this device default (or similar to that). Just for sure. You can now close all the config windows. I recommend clicking on OK buttons instead of Storno/Cancel, unless you love doing it all over again.

    6. You shall now be ready to test recording performance of your Mic if any. I reccommend using program that can be launched from Start->Accessories->Sound.

    All The Best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    dear friend,

Each hardware accessory of a computer comes with a driver software.

Higher version of windows has some in-built driver feature-like sound driver.

But a webcam must have its driver software.

Install the software to your computer & now try to run the webcam.

I'm sure that it'll help you to solve your problem.

Follow these video tutorial to know more about this.

Re: What to do if my Webcam microphone is not working in Windows PC? What should be the problem? How to solve this?

    Dear friend….
Good to hear that you are using Windows 8.

I see that Camera app on Windows 8 states "Connect a camera" but the web camera works fine with other programs.

Method 1: Run the app troubleshooter and then try to run the apps and check if that helps. You may download and run the troubleshooter from the following link.

    Method 2:
Create a new local account and check if the issue persists. Refer to these steps to create a local account:
    a) Press ‘Windows + W’ key to search Settings.
    b) Type “Users” without quotes and press enter.
    c) To create new user account click on the plus sign (+) ‘Add a User’.
    d) Select ‘Don’t want this user to sign in with Microsoft account?’
    e) Click on ‘Local account’ button.
    f) Enter the User name and click on ‘Next’ button and click on ‘Finish’.
    g) Restart the computer.

Please provide us any error logs related to issue from Event Viewer. Try the following steps:
    a) Hold Windows key + X.
    b) Select ‘Event Viewer’.
    c) Click an event log in the left pane.
    d) Double-click an event to view the details of the event. Events are classified as error, warning, or information, depending on the severity of the event.

    Hope this will help you
    Thank you….

Re: What to do if my Webcam microphone is not working in Windows PC? What should be the problem? How to solve this?

    Problem Resolution
Has your webcam been switched off or disconnected? Check that your webcam is switched on and is connected to your computer.
Is another program using your webcam? Close all programs that may be using the webcam. These include video editing software, instant messengers (such as Yahoo Messenger or Windows Live Messenger), browsers, Windows Explorer, and even some websites. Once you have done this, check that your webcam is being used by Skype.
Is there a problem with your call settings? Before making a call, select the contact and click in the calling area. Red or yellow icons indicate that further configuration is needed to achieve the best call quality. To check the settings, click the icon you wish to configure and a list of tips to help solve the issue will be displayed.
Are you using an old version of Skype? Make sure that both you and the person you are video calling are using the latest version of Skype. It’s easy tofind out what version of Skype you are using.
Are you using an old version of DirectX? Make sure that you have the latest version of Microsoft DirectX. For Windows Vista and Windows 7, you can get the latest version of DirectX by updating Windows with thelatest service packs and updates. For Windows XP, you can download it here.
Is your webcam incompatible with your version of Windows? Refer to the documentation for your webcam to make sure that it is compatible with your version of Windows.
Is there a problem with your webcam drivers? Check that your webcam is listed in Device Manager.
    1. Do one of the following:
      • Windows 7: Click the Windows button and select Control Panel. Click Hardware and Sound and under Devices and Printersselect Device Manager. Click the little arrow beside Imaging Devices.
      • Windows Vista: Open the Start menu and select Control Panel. Open System and Maintenance and click Device Manager.
      • Windows XP:Open the Start menu and select Control Panel. Open System and in the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.
    2. Check that your webcam is listed under Imaging devices.
If it’s not listed, reinstall the drivers for your webcam.
Are your webcam drivers loading? To let your webcam drivers load, try disabling Skype from loading automatically when you start up your computer:
    1. Sign out of Skype by clicking Skype > Sign Outin the menu bar.
    2. In the Welcome to Skype window, uncheck both the option Sign me in when Skype starts.
    3. Restart your computer.
    4. Sign in to Skype and make a video call.
Are your webcam drivers out of date? A driver is the program you install with the webcam which makes it work on your computer. (Some webcams use preinstalled drivers so you may not have had to install one.) Make sure you have the most recent drivers for your webcam by downloading them from the webcam manufacturer's website.
Is Windows missing the latest updates? Make sure that Windows has the latest service packs and updates installed.
