What to do if my Windows PC automatically reboots whenever there is a new update gets downloaded? How to stop my Windows PC to reboot automatically?

I am very much frustrated when my Windows PC goes for a automatic reboot when my there is any update gets downloaded for Windows OS, but somehow I want to stop this in being happening because sometimes it will be really bad when I use to work with some important docs and gets restarted without letting me to save the doc too. So what to do now? Can you tell how to stop my Windows PC getting rebooted whenever it goes for an update? Is it possible to do it?

Yes, it is possible for the user to change the reboot when getting updated all is needed to follow few simple steps to attain it. Windows OS goes for a force restart whenever it downloads the update the main reason for this is to safeguard from the latest vulnerabilities as each second there are so many viruses are being created but the good thing is that you can stop making the force restart in your Windows PC but always make sure that once you are done with your work you do a reboot for the update to get installed, now follow the simple steps given below to disable the force reboot option for Windows Update,

STEP 1: Go to Control Panel -> Select Windows Update.

STEP 2: Click change settings option, if you can notice under Important updates the option “install updates automatically” will be by default So now you can select the option as “Download updates but let me choose whether to install them” this will stop the automatic updates doing the force restart.

STEP 3: After selecting the required option -> Select Ok.

So after doing this always be conscious that you will do a reboot when your Windows PC once your work gets over. A better idea is to change the Install New Updates time so that the update occurs when you are not likely being in the computer and then it goes for the restart once the download is done which saves your time plus datas which you are currently accessing.

    Hello my friend,

this problem is occuring because you have set your update settings like this.

to resolve your problem change your settings by following steps:->

    Start->Control-panel->windows update

Now on the left pane click on "change settings"

here you will get various options under "choose how windows can install updates".

    from the drop down list
select download updates but let me choose whether to install or not.

I hope this would solve your problem.

    ALL THE BEST.

    Hello,

Friend to stop the auto updates you need to open the control panel.

    Than go to windows update.

    Open settings

Than in that chose the option which you like apart from auto update.

This will make sure that your computer do not download and install the updates automatically.

    -regards

    dear friend,

Of course you can change the booting option.

Sometimes this problem arises when you frequently install some programs- but don't restart the computer.

Follow these steps to get the desired result-

Open run window by pressing windows+R key.

Type Control & press enter-it'll open the control panel.

    Now select Windows Update.

Click on the change settings option.

If you can notice under Important updates the option “install updates automatically” will be by default So now you can select the option as “Download updates but let me choose whether to install them” this will stop the automatic updates doing the force restart.

Select the required option & press OK.

Restart your computer to save changes.

Always perform restart option after installing any program.
