What has to be done for changing the virtual memory size on Windows 7?

The performance of my PC running on Windows 7 is too bad for the past few weeks. It seems the problem is with the virtual memory size. I need to change that size to have a better performance. How can I do that?

Click the ‘Start’ button located at the bottom part of the desktop and select ‘Control Panel’ from the start menu. When you can see the ‘Control Panel’ option on the screen, hit the ‘System and Security’ option. The next step required is to click the ‘System’ option and select ‘Advanced System settings’ option located at the left pane. This will bring up the ‘System Properties’ window from which locate the ‘Advanced’ tab and make certain that it is already selected. Get into ‘Performance’ section and press the ‘Settings’ button. You can then view ‘Performance Options’ window on the screen. Press the ‘Advanced’ tab available on that window and hit the ‘Change’ button under ‘Virtual memory’. Clear off the checkbox near ‘Automatically manage paging file size for all devices’ label and select the drive for which you want to change the size. Adjust the size under ‘Custom’ option afterwards and press the ‘Set’ button. Finally, click on the ‘OK’ button located at the bottom part for saving the settings.

    Hi,

The Virtual Memory can be set at any point in time using windows, and this is how to do that.

Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced System settings > System Properties > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Performance Options > Advanced > Virtual memory > Change > uncheck - Automatically manage paging file size for all devices > select the drive for which you want to change the size.
Click Custom to re size the virtual memory, click Set .
    Finally, click OK to Save.

    Thanks.
