What has to be done for enabling shadow for mouse pointer on Windows 8?

While I was using Windows 7 with my PC, I can view a shadow for mouse pointer. I am not able to find such an option after upgrading my PC to Windows 8. I read somewhere that this feature does not remains by default on Windows 8, but needs to be activated. How can I enable this feature?

First of all, press the Windows key + C on the keyboard and wait until the charms bar pop up on the start screen. Click the ‘Start’ option available in that bar and locate ‘Computer’ option from the start menu. Right click on that option afterwards and hit the ‘Properties’ option available in the pop-up menu. Then, go to the left side of the window comes up on the screen and click the ‘Advanced system settings’ option under ‘Control Panel’ link. This will show up the ‘System Properties’ window on the screen. Confirm that the ‘Advanced’ tab in that window is already selected. Then, go to the ‘Performance’ section and press the ‘Settings’ button under it. On doing so, you can view ‘Performance Options’ window on the screen. You need to make sure that the ‘Visual Effects’ tab in that window is selected. Locate the ‘Show shadows under mouse pointer’ option from the list visible on that window and click the checkbox next to it until a check mark appears in it. After that, press the ‘OK’ button on both ‘Performance Options’ window and ‘System Properties’ window.

    Enabling Mouse Shadows

Press the Windows + E keyboard combination top open Explorer, then right-click on Computer and select properties from the context menu.

Now click on the Advanced system settings link on the left hand side.

Under the Performance section, click on the Settings button.

Here, enable the show shadows under your mouse pointer setting, then click apply.

Thatís all there is to it.
