What has to be done for increasing the Windows drive capacity shrunk while installing Fedora 17 into Windows XP?

When I try to install Fedora 17 from CD into my PC running on Windows XP, the installation process is failing at the middle stage. The volume of Windows drive get reduced much while installing this program. It is not possible to increase the volume even after using Diskpart.exe. I can’t increase the capacity after converting the drive to Dynamic disk. What else should I do to increase the Windows drive volume?

Go to the bottom part of the desktop and click the ‘Start’ button available over there. Choose ‘Run’ option from the start menu and wait until you can see the Run dialog box. Locate the Open box inside that dialog box and type cmd into it. After that, you need to press the ‘Enter’ key on the keyboard. This will bring up the command prompt window on the screen. Enter the command diskpart.exe into that window first and hit the ‘Enter’ key. Then, type in the command list volume and press the ‘Enter’ key. You can then enter the command for extending the volume, ‘extend noerr’ into the window. Press the ‘Enter’ key afterwards and check whether the Windows drive volume has extended or not.

    Hi,

To expand drive that was shrunk due to software installation can be done in the following process:

Start > Run> type cmd > Enter at the command prompt type diskpart.exe > Enter > type in the command list volume > Enter> enter "extend noerr" > Enter .

    Check the status.

    Thanks.
