What is the Ideal CPU temperature for a Laptop to work

My laptop turns off automatically many times.I have noticed that, during these shutdowns, the temperature of the laptop was very high. I want to know the Ideal temperature of a CPU to work without shutting down. Is there any way to control the temperature of a computer.

    Hello my friend,
There are two major manufacturers of processors AMD and INTEL and both have different ranges of temperatures.
Laptop turns off automatically if your laptop over heats as safety measure.
The ideal temperature of a cpu depends on the processor.
    http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/...rocessors.html
There is a software called speed fan.down load it.BUt use it carefully other your system may crash.

    hello . .

Yes . . . its true that the laptop turns off automatically when the temperature of the CPU goes high !!

Reason is that there is no proper ventilation for the air to circulate in the laptop . .

    To Avoid This ::

Just Get A Cooling Pad for the laptop and place the laptop on the cooling pad and work ...!!

then there will be no problem for u and you will work continuously without any disturbance . .!!

Just Even check you battery backup and efficiency too once in-case if that's the problem then it will be a major concern !!

    Good Luck !! . . .

Re: What is the Ideal CPU temperature for a Laptop to work

CPU temperature depends to some extent on manufacturer type.

For example Dell laptop becomes very hot after sometimes specially if you are gaming. But still they work fine but on the other side
Apple's laptop dont emit much heat , because of its metallic body , heat can be emitted from entire body, or you can say larger surface area
    for cooling.
While Dell have launched laptops which are metallic , so their working temperature will be different.

Generally, CPU are at higher temperature than room temp. Thats why they are kept in AC.

If your laptop is experiencing high temperature, then make sure that it is not placed in bed or other surface which dont provide ventilation air.
Keep it on table. And never use plastic sheet as cover on keyboard , many people use thinking that it will keep keyboard out of dust, so avoid it.
Keep checking that its cooling fan work fine , otherwise temp can rise much which can even damage.

    Hello my friend,
Ideal temperature of cpu depends on CPU.
LIke dual core and core 2 Duo processors are heated too easily but later versions like i3,i5 are not getting heated easily.
however i find this software very ineresting and very useful. It will tell you the ideal temp. of CPU according to its kind.

Dear,The Temperature of the CPUs depends on the Processors and the other Components of the Hardware. It is little difficult to say about the Ideal temperature of the cpu's . But due to high temperature your system will get turn off or get shut Dow after some time. You can reduce the Heat Efficiency by using the Laptop Heat pads. Or you can change the processor of the Cpu. the New Processors of intel are very heat efficient. They don't get the heat easily.

Re: What is the Ideal CPU temperature for a Laptop to work

Actually the ideal CPU performance is dependent on the processors that you are using.
In general The optimal performance for most of the processors is
50° Celsius (122° Fahrenheit) or below.
Most CPUs' maximum temperatures are around 100° Celsius (212° Fahrenheit).
This is the maximum temperature any processor can go up to but before
you get to that upper limit your laptop will likely to have problems like:
    • performance problems
    • shutting down randomly on its own.

There are many software which can monitor the core temperatures of your CPU.
If you are not getting any kind of overheating problems then it is a sign that your computer is running smoothly.
These softwares are called free monitoring programs and available on internet.

If you want to check the temperature ratings of various computers then go to the following links:

    Ideal temprature for Laptop..

"The biggest clue that your laptop is not running at an ideal temperature is if you're experiencing any symptoms of overheating. But most laptops naturally run hot, so a system utility that can access your laptop's internal temperature sensors can help you decide if you need to take steps to cool your laptop down further. You can look up temperature specifications for your specific laptop's Intel or AMD processor, but most CPUs' maximum temperatures are around 100° Celsius (212° Fahrenheit). Before you get to that upper limit, though, your laptop will likely have all sorts of performance problems and may be shutting down randomly on its own. Optimal operating temperature is 50° Celsius (122° Fahrenheit) or below, according to the SpeedFan temperature monitoring program, though newer processors may go comfortably higher to around 70° Celsius (158° Fahrenheit).

Several free temperature monitoring programs are available that can show you the CPU temperature as well as other system details like processor load, voltages, and more. Some of them can also automatically or manually adjust the speed of your laptop's fan for best performance. Here are a couple that I've used before:
SPEED FAN AND REAL TEMP SOFTWARE."

There is nothing you can do by knowing the temperature of the Lap.
Instead do the following in order to prevent your lap getting hot.
Try to provide some space near the exhaust hole in your lap.
Or you can get a Laptop pad to get your hot air get out easily.
Or the cheapest way is to keep a book under your PC so that it is high above the surface with the exhaust uncovered.

Re: What is the Ideal CPU temperature for a Laptop to work

Maximum temperature of a laptop may be upto 90C.
Minimum temperature may be upto 48C. However, Average temp remains near 42C.

It is true that whenever temperature of a laptop exceeds its limit, the laptop turns off automatically.
To prevent this problem, you must purchase Cooling Pad. In this way, your computer will not turn off automatically.
And your laptop will be safe also.

Hello friend.., -> These problem can be occur for many of the systems by their heavy usage so by these only the system get shutdown.so to control these conditions you must use some software in to which they will use to control the temperature and also should control the system with safe. Therefore my advice is to use "SPEED FAN" software it will make control the system temperature and also free's from the any noises in the fan..! And the actual minimum temperature of the laptops is 50* degree celsius. @LET'S TRY IT@

Re: What is the Ideal CPU temperature for a Laptop to work

Average laptop dual cores core-temperatures idle around 50s'C (Celsius) which is 122'F. At load core-temps can go up to 70s'C. This is perfectly normal for a laptop.

To reduce the heat produced by the CPU, you have to change several of the CPU's power settings.
Here is the steps to do that :-

1 Press "Start" -> "Control Panel." Press "System and Maintenance" and then "Power Options."
2 Choose the "Power Saver" options. Choosing the "Power Saver" option sets the processor to run at a slower speed, reducing heat produced by the processor.
3 Click "Change Plan Settings" under "Power Saver" and then click "Change advanced power options." Scroll through the list to "Processor power management" and expand the field. Click the "Maximum processor state" field and type in a value between 25 and 50. This value sets the maximum amount of the processor the PC can work with at one time.
4 Click the "Minimum processor state" field and ensure that the number entered is 1. This number is the smallest amount of the processor the PC can use at one time. Click "OK" to save any changes and exit.

Note : Running several programs at the same time can increase CPU temperature.

    Hi there,

It is a general acceptance to not only Lenovo laptop, but all other notebooks as well in which they should be used on a temperature range of 5 to 40 degrees Celsius at normal. Though specific range of the suitable temperature epends on brand to brand and model to model.

You should use your laptop in a cool environment and if you are a game geek, then you should get a cooling pad to get rid of the problem.

    Thank You..!!

Re: What is the Ideal CPU temperature for a Laptop to work

    HI,

The central processing unit (CPU) is the main component of a computer. It controls everything a computer does in the same way the brain controls a human. When a computer is running multiple programs, it isn't unusual for the CPU's temperature to rise.

Depending on the processor, the manufacturer, how fast it runs, where the sensor is located, and what programs it is currently running will determine the temperature of what the processor should be. However, this document should give you a general idea of what the processor should be running at as well as what is acceptable and what is not.

The majority of today's desktop processors should not exceed temperatures of 95C and most will run between 70-90C.

Kindly check out the chart i am giving you -

    Processors Average temperature
    AMD Athlon 90C - 95C
    AMD Athlon64 65C - 70C
    AMD Athlon64 Mobile 95C - 100C
    AMD Athlon MP 90C - 95C
    AMD Athlon XP 85C - 90C
    AMD Duron 85C - 95C
    AMD Opteron 65C - 71C
    AMD Sempron 90C - 95C
    AMD K5 60C - 70C
    AMD K6 65C - 70C
    AMD K6 Mobile 80C - 85C
    AMD K7 Thunderbird 70C - 95C
    Intel Pentium II 65C - 75C
    Intel Pentium III 60C - 85C
    Intel Celeron 67C - 85C
    Intel Pentium Mobile 100C
    Intel Pentium Pro 80C - 85C
So from this you will get and idea...

Re: What is the Ideal CPU temperature for a Laptop to work

    Hi,
The ideal temp. of the CPU depends on the the processor and the hardware used by the manufacturer ..
But the Ideal CPU temperature for normal Laptop to work is 50 deg. ...But you can work to the temp. 60
But you should take care of the temp. of the laptop..
And you should always use the laptop table ...And use the laptop where the temp. is less ....
always make some space below the laptop table so that hot air can move easily..

Hope you have got you answer...
