What should I do if my MBR(Master Boot Record) is corrupted and I am unable to install OS?

I am trying to install Windows OS in my PC but the problem is MBR is corrupted in my PC. So whenever I try to install the OS it says “STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)” in blue screen, Can you tell me how to fix this problem? What steps I should carry out?

    Hello,

This is a severe problem that makes your system handicap and the system will stop doing absolute nothing.

I dont know what OS you are using. Assuming you are using something of an older version like XP or Win 7 you can do something like this,

Insert Win XP cd in the drive. Boot from the XP installation cd and enter the Repair Console and use fixmbr command specified the drive togather.

Another way is by doing a direct windows repair. press F8, go to install windows, and then when you see the windows partition, select it and select the option of "repair." it should bring you to a prompt asking you to repair windows. it may caution "if you do this, you may lose your data" but you possibly won't, just proceed and get the mbr repaired.

    Thats it.

    dear friend,

This problem occurs when the motherboard is contained with some different kinds of embedded IDE controller comparing to the original one.

Try to boot from a bootable OS DVD.

There are two ways by which you can solve this error-

Upgrade of OS- You have to upgrade your OS if the version is older for your motherboard.

Using recovery console- Open the command prompt & type fixmbr & press enter. Windows will fix the errors.

Hard disc management- Format your computer. Make new partitions & re-install the OS.

Hope by this way you can solve the problem.
