    after that choose the Universal serial bus controllers and expand the option and right click on it and select properties

    and select the DRIVER tab and click UPDATE DRIVER button

    and if you are unable solve the problem with the UPDATE DRIVER option

    then again right click on the controllers and select the UNINSTALL option

    and then follow the instructions to complete the UNINSTALLATION

    Hi,

    You need to take a few actions to solve your problem.

    Clean the whole system using a good antivirus software. And find out if any virus was to be blamed for your situation.

    If nothing still changes , you need to log on to the Microsoft official website and download a driver file for USB drive from there.
    You can also follow another path,
    Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus Controllers, click there and select "update driver" this will automatically update the USB driver in your system and you will be able to use iPod , and Flash drives.

    Thanks.

    This problem can occur if there are corrupted or incorrect keys in the registry.

    To fix this problem, delete the UpperFilters registry value and the LowerFilters registry value. These values may cause access problems. To do this, follow these steps:
    1.Click start, click Run, type regedit, and then clicK OK.
    2.Locate and then click the UpperFilters registry value. This value is located in the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    3.On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.
    4.Locate and then click the LowerFilters registry value. This value is located in the following registry subkey:
    1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    5.On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.
    6.Exit Registry Editor.
    7.Restart the computer.
