Whenever I receive a call, windows Xp computer starts up automatically

I am a windows xp user having 384 MB RAM, A Gigabyte Motherboard and a D-Link 56 kbps moderm with a compact UPS. Generally i use the dial up connection mode to connect internet. Most of the time i turn off my computer normally but sometime i forget to switch it off from the UPS. It creates an issue then.Whenever i receive a call, the system starts up. Is there any way to fix this issue?

Actually, you have enabled a setting titled "Wake on Modem" and "Wake on LAN" in your BIOS. You need to turn these options off to fix this issue. You will find these options under Power Management Section of Bios. If you are facing this issue in Sleep/sandby mode then click on Start>>Run,type "devmgmt.msc" and hit the enter button on your keyboard. Now right click on Installed Modem and click "Properties". After that click on "Power Management" tab and uncheck the option which shows "Allow this device to bring the computer oout of standby".Once done, click on "Ok" to apply these changes.
