    dear friend,

It seems like you are not following the proper way to create shortcut for Windows Defender-

Follow these guidelines to do so-

    1. So to the "Desktop".
    2. Right click on any blank place.
    3. Point your mouse pointer to the "New" followed by click on the "Shortcut".
    4. Now Create shortcut window will appear.
    5. Type %ProgramFiles%\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe in the edit field & click on "Next".
    6. Now you have to give a name of this shortcut-name it Windows Defender & click on "Finish".
    7. You can see your new shortcut on your desktop.
    8. You can also drag it to taskbar to make it quick launch link.

Hope these info will help you a lot.

In the preview version of the windows8 operating system you will be able to use the applications and features only but if you install the full version of the windows 8 then you will be able to clarify your shortcuts and provide better way of installation and also you can view all the files.

    Hi James
You can accomplish this with a couple of different procedures.
    1. On the Start Screen, right click the Windows Defender tile and select the Pin to Taskbaroption on the Command Bar.
    2. On the Start Screen, right click the Windows Defender tile and select the Open File Location option on the Command Bar.
    a. This will open Windows Explorer with the Windows Defender shortcut selected.
    b. Right click the shortcut and select Copy.
    c. Go to the Desktop and right click and select Paste.

Let us know if this works for you.

dear friend .. do not worry .EALP always with you .i will give you a suggestion look below :

Microsoft will include antivirus in Windows 8 for the first time in the history of Windows.
    go to Tools -> Options.
Here you will find a lot of configuration options. Scroll down to the end of the list. You will find there a section called Administrator options. select the Use Windows Defender box and press the Save button.
Now you will receive a notification saying that "Windows Defender is turned on". Click on Close and you are done.
