    Hello my friend,

It may be possible that Adobe you are trying to install not compatible with your windows XP.
Try to install lower versions of Adobe like 7.
Make sure that you have downloaded complete set up.
Make sure that your set up is not infected with virus.Download from the official site.

    ALL THE BEST.

However, you may follow the steps below and check if it helps you install the programs on your computer.

    Step 1

You may check if the windows installer service is set to automatic and started and change it accordingly. After checking try to verify if you can uninstall iTunes and reinstall it. To do this, follow the steps below:

    a) Click on Start.
    b) In the start search box type services.msc and press enter
    c) In the services Window, scroll down to Windows installer.
    d) Right click on it and click on Properties.
    e) Check if the startup type is set to Automatic, if not set it to automatic.
    f) Click on start button, this will start the windows installer services.
    g) Click on Apply and Ok.

    Step 2

If the above steps do not help, you may unregister and reregister windows installer service on your computer and check if it helps you fix the issue.

To do this, follow these steps:

    a. Click on the Start menu, click on Run.
    b. In the Open box, type msiexec /unreg, and then press ENTER.
    c. On the Start menu, click Run.
    d. In the Open box, type msiexec /regserver, and then press ENTER.

Hope this helps. Let us know the results.

    Thanks and Regards,

    dear friend,

If any program use windows installer service to be installed & the installer service is not running properly due to corrupted/incorrect windows registry editor settings then one can see this problem. Probably you are going through the same. There are several ways by which you can solve this problem. If one is not working then you have to try the other processes. Follow these Guidelines to solve the issue-

    1. Check the status of windows installer services-

    Click on the Start.
Type services.msc in the search box & hit enter.
Under Services(local) option, right click on windows installer.
    Select properties.
Select the Startup type as Manual.
If the service status is stopped then click on the start & then OK.
Restart your computer & try to install any program.

    2. If the windows installer service is stopped then you have to turn it ON-

    Click on the Start button.
Type Run in the search box & click on the option appeared.
    It'll open the Run window.
You may also open it by pressing Windows key+R button together.
Type cmd in the edit field & press enter-it'll open the command prompt.
Type net start MSIServer & hit enter.
    Check for the problem.

    3. You may reset the windows installer service registry settings-

    Download the notepad attachment.
Open the file & click on Save as.
Now name it Msirepair.reg & select the "All files" from the list-press enter.
Now go to the directory where you've saved the file & right click on it.
Select Merge option-provide administrator password if prompted.
Click on yes to install the registry key.

    4. Uninstall previous version of a program you're trying to install-

Uninstall previous version of a program you trying to install & then try to re-install it.

Re: Why windows installer showing error when installing programs? How to fix this error?

    Hi,

Without going to to complex world of editing windows installer i am explaining the possible ways why is it happening.

The Adobe software is the latest from their staple and your windows is a bit old , backward compatibility is not happening.

The adobe you have downloaded was not downloaded correctly or completely so the installer is finding it hard to link all the required parameters from whatever was downloaded.

The download Adobe software was virally infected thus making windows vulnerable and incompetent for the installation job.

The windows installer or supporting .dll files may be corrupted and unable to perform its designated job.

Tried several times to install thus the registry and the space where the software was written may have fragments of earlier installations which is hindering the new installation process.

Assuming you are using the valid copy of the windows, try to download from official website of adobe for a seamless operation.

    Thank you.
