    Dear Friend,

First of all i'll like to tell you that the speed of computer is dependent on the hardware of your computer.if you really want to have a high speed of your computer , you should upgrade your PC to the latest hardware, to run Windows 7 on your computer ,your computer must meet the minimum computer hardware requirements for win 7.

    • 1 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
    • 2 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
    • 3 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
    • 4 DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

After computer has the above requirements, you install Win 7 and install a new and fast Antivirus , and remember to update your computer as well as your antivirus at regular intervals to keep your computer safe from virus and attacks from viruses as well.

and the answer to your question is that Win 7 is faster than windows vista but only if your PC has specific system requirements.

      Regards,

it depends upon the processor and the ram of your computer.
If you have dual core or lower processor then you can still use vista else you can upgrade to windows 7.
Check whether your ram got removed by others.....
Scan your system to avoid the virus affections..
Run disk clean up which makes your system works faster....
Clear down the cookies to get good speed....

    Hello my friend,
It is observed that windows gets slower over the use if you don't maintain properly. There can be many reasons for your PC working slowly.
LIke low RAM and poor proceesing speed.
you have installed many programms in your system and scarcely use it.
your disk become fragmeneted defragment your disk.
empty your some of disk space if it is fully occupied.

Yes if you upgrade your system from vista to windows 7,your system will work faster.Windows 7 is much more improved version over windows vista.

    ->

In general Windows 7 is faster than vista version in all aspects.
Booting time is less in windows 7 . RAM consumption is also low as compared to Vista which is around 700MB. So, you can work with 7
in a PC having just 1 GB RAM while its not possible with Vista.

There are some ways which can help you work your PC efficiently :

In order to make start up and shut down fast , decrease the number of apps which start at login. Go to start and type "msconfig".
Here you select all those apps which you need at starting rest you can start manually if needed.

Schedule your anti virus program, so that they dont keep running unnecessarily which hamper speed, make them run when you are free.

Use the apps which require less RAM , for example you can use Foxit reader instead of Adobe reader. So if you have more free RAM,
    better will be speed.

    hello . .

firstly ; it doesn't depend whether your operating system is windows vista or windows 7 . .

it depends on the processor you are using . .

even the RAM also matters . .

because for multitasking you need more RAM . .

    moreover in today's market processors's of Intel i 3 ; i 5 and i 7 are in more demand . .

if you want to upgrade your system ; just make sure the motherboard ; processor ; RAM are the best available in today's market !!

    Good Luck . .

    dear friend,

If you remove Windows vista & install windows 7, it will surely make your computer faster.

Before installing windows 7,make sure that your computer consists of these features-

    • 1GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor.
    • 1GB RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit).
    • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit).
    • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver.

You must remove unused items from the OS installed drive.

Don't install unnecessary software after installing windows 7.

If you have windows vista then you must have good hardware configuration.
What you need to do is to maintain your PC.
Your system gets slow down when you install more games.
Temporary files also slows down your PC performance.
To improve your PC performance delete the unwanted files from your PC using 'Disc cleaner'.
Try to uninstall the unwanted programs.
Defragment your C drive using Disc defragmenter.

Re: Will my PC work faster if I upgrade my PC from Windows Vista to Windows 7? What all I can do to make my Windows PC work faster?

Speed of your PC is independent of OS.
If you change your OS from Vista to Windows 7. Then, it is not sure that your PC's performance will increase.
However, speed and performance of any PC depends on many factors.
Some of the main factors that play crucial role in speed of the PC are: Processor Speed, RAM, Sufficient Hard Disk Space.
If your PC has above three things, then your PC will show good performance.

However, if you are upgrading your OS to Windows 7, then it is a good decision.
Because, Vista is not successful version from Microsoft. Many computer users commented about Vista that it is slow. It takes a lot of time in booting as well as it consumes a lot of RAM. So, Windows 7 is much better than Vista.

PC performance is mainly based on the hardwares in your computer and your maintenance.
Windows 7 is 30% faster than vista when it comes to performance or boot time.
But if you maintain your system with proper care like having good antivirus,
sheduled disc clean up and defragmentation.
Deleting the unwanted data and keeping your C drive with less than 75%data.
If you maintain it properly then vista is good.

    hii,

i acn under stand your problem..........

the speed of an system depends on their ram.......and processor...........and of course on your graphics card......

so if you have 2GB RAM and 2GHz PROCESSOR and 256 MB GRAPHICS CARD........your system will work more faster.....

so change your system combination of ram and processor and graphics card to this.............so that your system work fast enough for you............

Re: Will my PC work faster if I upgrade my PC from Windows Vista to Windows 7? What all I can do to make my Windows PC work faster?

    Hi,

Switching from Windows Vista to Windows 7 is always a matter of joy as the change in version will deliver a whole host of newer experience.

The speed of a computer not only depend on Version of OS installed, bur mostly on the hardware installed in it.

The speed is determined by The Processor - most powerfull with fastest clock speed in GHz. are the fastest.
The amount of RAM installed - the more the faster.
The Hard Drive - fastest hard disk with higher rotation speed and smaller seek time are the fastest.
More Cache RAM the system runs fast.
Advanced Mother Board assists all components to perform to the limit.

Now, definitely Windows 7 will beat Windows Vista in speedy execution of tasks, it is derivative of research on Windows and flawes of previous OSs and quicker responce is assured in it.
You can perform best with Windows 7 if you Clean the system regularly using antivirus.
If few TSR programs are loaded while booting.
If Scandisk, Disk Cleaner , and Disk Defragmenter are run at regular interval.
Dont load Windows 7 with too many installed programs, of which many may be of little use.
Use 64 bit version of Windows 7.

    Thanks.

    Hello friend,

Yes, you can upgrade your system from Windows vista to Windows 7.
But check that your system configuration is meets the minimum requirement
of windows 7 to install the Windows 7 in your system.

The minimum requirements to install the Windows 7 is.

1.1 GHz processor or higher is required.
2.1 GB ram for 32-bit and 2 GB for 64-bit.
3.16 GB free space for 32-bit and 20 GB for 64-bit.

    Hi..................

By upgrading your system from Windows vista to Windows 7 i cannot say that will work faster. You should check that you have minimum configuration to run the Windows 7 in your computer then you install the Windows 7.

Try to avoid the unnecessary updates and software's.

Try to delete the unwanted files.

Try to perform the 'CheckDisk' frequently.

    Thanks...................
