    Hello Friend,

    Well, for your kind information Windows Media Player is not suitable to play all video files. There are some files that are not compatible with Windows Media Player. But still to make your Windows Media Player is not corrupted you should uninstall the windows Media Player from your PC and then download the latest version form the internet so see whether it can help you to play those files. The best p[tion for you would be to download other's media players such as VLC, KM Player or GOM Player fro the internet and install them on your PC. They can play any sort of files and there is no issue as such. Best of luck.

    Bye,

    Hello friend,

    I have the solution for our problem just do as i say.................................

    1.Windows Media Player is best for playing songs but not videos.

    2.Only few format of video like .Avi,.MPE..

    3.Just few two to three formats are supported.

    4.So you go to the website 'www.filehippo.com'.

    5.From there you download another player like VLC Player and Quick Time Player they will work fine to play those videos.

    Have a nice day........................

    Re: Window media player unable to play any video in Windows 7

    When your Windows Media Player is failing in playing video files, it has some reasons behind it.

    1. Which source you are using to play Video files ? If you are trying to play DVD then Windows Media Player cant play DVD media.

    2. Windows Media Player , being part of Windows installation can't be uninstalled from Windows,
    Download latest version of Windows Media Player from Microsoft and reinstall to fix any internal problem.

    3. Windows Media Player, is incapable of playing several formats of media files , for that it needs additional CODEC PACK,
    to be installed.
    Log into internet, search for k-lite codec pack and download, then install it in Windows Media Player, it can Help
    WMP to decode several media formats which are otherwise not recognized by the WMP.

    Try them.

    Hello Friend......

    First of all, Windows media player will not support all formats of videos.

    To better view the videos use Km player, VLC, GOM, Jet Audio etc.

    Install any of this player, and watch the videos without any issues.

    Hope you got the information correctly.

    Thank You.

    Re: Window media player unable to play any video in Windows 7

    Hi, Dear friend

    First of all you did not mentioned the VIDEO file type ( format )

    However the windows media player supports the below formats only....and are

    Windows Media files- .wm, .wmv, and .asf;
    AVCHD files (including Dolby Digital audio) - .m2ts and .m2t;
    Apple QuickTime files - .mov and .qt;
    AVI files - .avi;
    Windows Recorded TV Show files - .wtv and .dvr-ms;
    MPEG-4 movie files - .mp4, .mov, and .m4v;
    MPEG-2 movie files -.mpeg, .mpg, .mpe, .m1v, .mp2, .mpv2, .mod, and .vob;
    MPEG-1 movie files- .m1v;
    Motion JPEG files- .avi and .mov.

    So, first of all check whether your file listed above or not....... and if not ... then it is not supported by the windows media player in that case you need to convert the File in to above format ....and after that it will be solved

    And if you have any problem with the PLAYER simply execute these steps and ... re-install the player ... to get the solution that is

    1. press windows key + r type regedit and press ENTER key and click YES
    2. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE ~software ~ microsof ~ Active desktop ~ installed components
    3. After that double click on the isIstalled option from the right pane set the value 0 to 1......and then reboot your system
    after the login ..... go to start menu and click the windows media player.....and re-install it

    after that it will be solved

    ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!
