Before trying anything else, run the disk cleanup utility and check whether it fix your issue or not. If it doesn't fix your issue then click on "Start" button and click "Computer". Now right click the hard disk(drive) that you want to check and choose "Properties". After that click on "Tools" tab.Under "Error-checking" click on "Check Now".It can ask for administrator password so don't hesitate to provide the same. Select "Automatically fix file system errors" option. If you want to perform a thorough disk check then select "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors". It will find and repair physical error present on hard disk. Wait patiently because it takes a long time. Make sure that you have selected both "Automatically fix file system errors" and "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" before clicking on "Start" button. Depending upon the size of your hard disk,it will take time. Don't run any other task until the process get completed. If the problem still persists then "Delete the USN journal on the volume".To do so,launch the command prompt as Administrator and type "fsutil usn queryjournal F: ". Here "F" is the the partition. Now type another command "fsutil usn deletejournal /D F:".It will delete the journal and will fix your issue.
