Windows 7 canít highlight file extension when renaming a file

Whenever I try to rename a file on my laptop running on Windows 7, only the file name is highlighted not its extension. I need to highlight the entire file name along with the extension. What should I do for that?

    Hi,

If you want to see the file extentions which are hidden by the Windows 7 to protect the files from being renamed, take the following course.

    1. Open any folder or explorer
    2. Click Organize.
    3. Click Folder and search options.
    4. Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types
    6. Click OK

After this, the file extensions should be visible and no longer hidden.

    Thanks.
