Windows 7 computer overheats and hangs after half an hour

Hi everybody. I have a desktop with an AMD Athlon II X3 425 CPU,2GB DDR3 RAM,a MSI GF61 motherboard and a seagate 500 GB hard disk. I seem to be having a big problem. When i start my PC,it boots properly but after half an hour,it overheats(up to 61 degree celsius) and hangs. The only option is to restart my PC using the reset button. But then it says “there’s no hard disk “. It ask me to insert the boot media. The components in my CPU cabinet also heat up.What should i do to fix the same?

First and foremost, open your PC case and service your CPU cooler. Detach it and clean it thoroughly-clean the blades of the fan and the fins of the heatsink. Also clean the surface of the processor and apply a fresh layer of thermal paste before you reinstall the cooler.Does your PC case have at least two fans?If not, install one or two exhaust fans at the rear and an intake fan at the front. That will sort out the overheating problem. Regarding the problem with the hard drive,it seems that your SATA cable and check if the booting problem is solved.Else run a disk check to check for bad sectors. If found,it would be best to replace your hard drive.

    Hi friend,

    AMD_heatsink_and_fan.jpg

    >>>You are facing this problem because your processor heats up

    >>>So you need to decrease the temperature

    >>>Open the cabinate then remove the fans

    >>>Now clean the fans it dust particles are there

    >>>Now remove the processor but be careful

    >>>Now clean the sockets with soft brush

    >>>Now fix the processor and put the thermal paste at the bottom side of the fan

    >>>Now fix the heatsink fan

    >>>Now check the SATA cable and power cable to hard disk are properly connected

    >>>Once unplug the SATA cable and power cable then again plug it

    Thank you

Hi dear friend........to solve the Over Heating issues......follow the below instructions

It might be the problem of Thermal paste...... issue....first of all try to replace the thermal paste ....... that is

get thermal paste from your near computer centers.......then turn of the PC.....remove the cabinet

after that remove the processor Heat SINK .... ....and at the back side of HEAT SINK you see some ..paste which is in White color

First clean it up the previous paste on heat sink as well as on processor with ....ISO Propyle Alchohol ....which is usually a metal cleaner......and for the clean...... use Tissues or any soft certain only ....don't use any material on that ...

and use little drops of solution only for the cleaning...

after that.... drop down 3 or 4 drops of paste on HEAT SINK .....and insert it

after that check again........ if still the problem persists

ceanup your pc with Disk cleanup tool....and after .. go to run and type %temp% and click ok ....and delete all the data from the window...... and also perform the Disk defragment operation

    ALL THE BEST

Most of the times this happens because of hardware/BIOS problem
    suggestions

1.blow with compress air can to remove dust and other particles

    2.Use a notebook cooling pad with fan/fans.

    3.Check driver and BIOS updates

one way to resolve your problem
using use model number contact to support
one of my friend have the same problem
    he contact with acer support
they provide him telephonic support and ask him to make some some changes in BIOS
    which solves his problem

    Hi,

This might be happening due to dust inside the CPU.
Dust particles act as an conductor and hence generate more heating.
Hence I will suggest you to clean the motherboard and other hardware components inside the CPU properly with a brush.
Then see, whether it works or not.

If the same problem persists, then it means that there is some hardware problem in the system.
You need to show your system to a professional who can repair it properly!

    Bye!

This is a hardware related issue.

There are at least two if not three cooling fans in every system which flows fresh cool air into the system , specifically the CPU and the SMPS two vitalmost components of a computer.

Possibly one or bothe fans are having problem and fails to perform duly.

Contact a hardware engineer to check if the cooling fan /heat sink should be refitted or changed or the computer will be in big trouble.
