Windows 7 Professional does not go to Sleep mode

When I want my Windows 7 Professional to go to sleep mode, it does not go. I need to shut down, if I never use the System. I tried in many ways, but could not get rid off the problem. I need to get the problem solved. What might be the problem? Please, help me!

    Hi.
Check your Power Option settings. To do this, follow these steps:
    >>Click Start, type power sleep in the Start Search box, and then click Change when the computer sleeps.
    >>In the Put the computer to sleep box, select a new value such as 15 minutes. However, make sure that you do not select Never. Then, click Change advanced power settings.
    >>Expand Sleep, expand Allow waker timers, and then select Disable.
Note This setting prevents programs from waking your computer. If you want a scheduled task to wake your computer, you have to change this setting back to Enable.

    >>Expand Multimedia settings, expand When sharing media, and then select Allow the computer to sleep.
    Thank you.

To activate Sleep Mode you need to set values to the option getting into the settings.

To do so take the following steps.

Click Start -- in the search box type " power option" and press enter.
The Power Option will be displayed to you, click on it, The Power Options will be displayed.
Select Sleep Mode and set time limit , after which the system will sleep.
You can also set Hibernation time from here too.

    Set the time limit, exit.
From next time the computer will go to sleep if stays inactive for more than the time limit.

Re: Windows 7 Professional does not go to Sleep mode

Try as follows to get the Sleep mode:-

    > Click Start -> Control Panel -> select 'Power Options'.

    > In the Power Options window that comes, in LHS, click on the option "Change when the computer sleeps".

    > Now in the editing window that appears, one option is there "Put the computer to sleep". Make sure it is not selected as "Never" by default in the drop-down menu. Put any time as per your choice and click 'Save changes' to enable it.

    This should fix your problem.....
