Windows 7 prompts for password when opening USB Flash Drives

This is very strange on my Windows 7 computer that is if I plug in any USB flash drive to the CPU my computer prompts for password to access the flash drive, I don't understand what to type there because there is no password set for that drive. Then I have connected other hard drive again same prompt.

    Hello my dear Aspirant ---

In order to create Password for the USB drivers you must follow the simple and Easy steps

--> First and Fore Most thing you have to do is Go to the My computer

--> There you can see the Drive after insert your USB into the port

--> After Right click on the Driver you can see the " TURN ON BIT LOCK DRIVER " option

--> It will start the Process of Bit locker

--> There After completion of the You can see the window having the Username and password

--> Try to give the Info and it will Enable only when you Lock to " Use a Password to Unlock the Drive "

--> Then Follow the instruction as per the Window and Finally click on the " Start of Encrypting "

Finally After getting a message of " Successfully completed the Encrypting " process

    That is all

    Good luck

Re: Windows 7 prompts for password when opening USB Flash Drives

As You are always prompted ton give a password while inserting any hardware through the USB port only , so I think it is the case of parental controls .
Parental controls are applied by using the Administrator account . I hope there would be two or more accounts in your PC and you may be using the Standard account to operate in the PC .

So , the person who is using the Administrative account may have set this control , in which he has specified to take his prior permission for accessing any external Drive inserted through the USB port . So I give you the advice to know about your administrative user and take his consent to remove this kind of control .

I hope this works for you , cause I'm not sure is it true or not .
