Windows 7 shows red X icon over connection icon on tray even after connecting to internet

I have already connected my PC running on Windows 7 to internet. Still, I can found red X mark over the connection icon displayed on the tray. I can’t remove that icon even after restarting the router and PC. I am using Internet Explorer as default browser. Is there any way available to get rid of this mark?

Press the ‘Start’ button and type regedit into the search field visible at the bottom part of the start menu. Launch the ‘Registry Editor’ by clicking the regedit program appears under the search results. Go to the left pane of the ‘Registry Editor’ window and navigate into HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify. You can then find keys named IconStreams, PastIconsStream, UserStartTime, LastAdvertisement and PromotedIconCache on the right pane. Double click on these keys and delete the data values. Right click on the taskbar and click the ‘Start Task Manager’ option. When you can view the ‘Task Manager’ window on the screen, press the ‘Process’ tab and delete all explorer.exe programs. Hit the ‘Application’ tab in the window afterwards and click the ‘New Task’ option on the bottom part. After that, type explorer.exe into the available field and press the ‘Enter’ key.

    Hi.
    Follow the below steps:
    >>Open the Registry Editor
    >>If you use Windows 7 browse to:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \TrayNotify
    >>Delete the data of the following keys in this folder:
    IconStreams
    LastAdvertisement
    PastIconsStream
    PromotedIconCache
    UserStartTime
    >>Open the Task Manager.
    >>Switch to the process tab.
    >>Kill every explorer.exe process
(this is necessary because the explorer.exe has a backup copy of this keys in the RAM and writes it back to the registry on shutdown)
    >>Switch to the application tab of the Task Manager.
    >>Press "New Task".
    >>Type "explorer.exe" and press Enter.

    Thank you.

Hi dear friend...............this is the problem about the network icon not showing correct status then you should end the Explorer.exe

process and then restart your system follow the procedure:

frst press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC combination from the keyboard

    then choose the process tab

now select the explorer.exe under list of processes and click on End Process

Click to end process after confirming that you want to continue

then Click new task(Run...) under File menu

Type %systemroot%\explorer.exe after creating New Task dialog box and Click OK button

Restart the system and check the issue again

    ALL THE BEST.....!!!!!!
