Windows 7 taking too much time to open Windows Explorer within ‘Downloads’ folder

When I try to launch Windows Explorer on ‘Downloads’ folder in my PC upgraded to Windows 7, I found the system is taking about 10 seconds to make the ‘Downloads’ directory visible. In what way can I reduce this delay?

    Hi,

There may be a number of issues those are responsible for the condition you are encountering.

    1. Virus Infection, it can cripple the system so run a good antivirus program to scan and clean the system.
    2. You may have an accumulation of a huge number of unimportant files, such as Temporary files, Downloaded files, Cookies, cache files etc. which are taking lot of time for the Windows to be understood and attribute.remove them by using Disk Cleanup, by going to :
    Start>All Programs > Accessories>System Tools> Disk Cleanup.
    3. Type %temp% from the Run window and delete all temporaryfiles.
    4. Run Disk Defragmenter to organize the whole System.

    Thanks.
