Windows 7 is taking too much time while booting

I recently bought a Dell XPS 15 laptop with an Intel core i7 CPU,8GB RAM,1TB HDD,windows 7 and Nvidia GT 540M(2GB).When i started my laptop for the first time,it was quite slow. After removing some programs,it gained a little speed, but i still cannot get the boot speed i want. I also have a Dell desktop with a lower configuration but it is faster than my laptop. I tried defragmenting, disabling startup programs and removed temporary files but nothing has happened. How can i increase the boot speed of my laptop?

It’s nice to see that you have already tried defragmenting, disabled startup programs and got rid of temporary files. You should also try eliminating redundant registry entries, stopping unwanted services and tuning up your system. For that, you will need a system tuning utility such as TuneUp Utilities,or you can use freeware such as CCleaner.Did you perform a virus scan on your laptop regularly?

    hii...
I will suggests you that your laptop is still in warranty, so get it checked out at dell care cente.
If you are unable to boost up the speed although you are using i7 and 8 GB RAM for windows 7.
With such a best configuration anf the features you have stopped + Defragmentation etc you have done, makes working as well as booting very fast.
Because this could be a problem of hardware like weak wiring.

To speed up Windows Performance, do the following.

    Run virus check regularly.
Remove unimportant programs from your drive, uninstall them.
Delete unnecessary files, run disk cleanup for that.
Type % temp% in the Command Prompt and delete all temporary files.
    Clean the registry.

Use Task Manager to kill unnecessary processes.

Take those actions and feel fine.

Re: Windows 7 is taking too much time while booting

    Dear friend,

In such a good hardware configuration of your laptop, the only thing which is going to bottleneck the performance is your hard disk.
First check out whether you are using SATA III (6Gbps) or SATA II (3Gbps). If you are using SATA II, then you must upgrade your hard disk to
SATA III because they have better read and write speeds. Check out your motherboard for hard disk SATA ports for SATA III.

I would recommend you to buy a SSD drive, which is roundabout 10 times faster than traditional hard disk as yours. This hard drive doesn't have
any rotating component, they works as your memory card works in mobile phone. That will boost up the performance of your laptop.
The cost of a 60 GB SSD drive is about Rs. 5000 or below it.

    Thanks!

Re: Windows 7 is taking too much time while booting

You are using i7 procesor in you laptop.

Yet you are getting low speed.

You have also tried so many improvement steps but not gained original speed.

Well you need to scan your aptop for virus files.

So you have to install an original antivirus with latest updates.

    Then scan fully your laptop.

Delete the virus files which are detected.

    Then reboot your laptop.

Now you will surely gain good speed in your laptop.

    Hello,

You need to defragment your your drives. Now, install a good quality anti-virus
such as Kaspersky,Bitdefender etc. Now, run the anti-virus and see if there are
viruses in your PC. Delete the viruses and see whether you have any improvement
in machine speed or not. If there is no improvement in machine speed then you need
    to foramt your PC.

    Bye,

    dear friend,
->this might be because of the virus attack. so, try scanning it wit antivirus.
->there can be other reason that you have installed more antiviruses. so,uninstall extra antiviruses.
    ->if that won't work.then just re-install your window.
    have a nice day.

    Hello dear Aspirant ------------

I think the main Reason behind the issue is Virus problem

My best suggestion is to please " Install " the best Anti virus software

It will avoid the most of the problem after Scan your system

For this You have delete all your Unwanted files before scanning since the space on the C drive may be full of data

It often cause to Crash or slow down your system

So follow the above techniques to avoid this type of common problems

If the problem remains persists then you must Run the system in the "Compatibility " mode

    That is all
