    Windows 7 won't activate after replaced motherboard in HP desktop

    The Windows 7 OS is not activating after replacing the motherboard in my HP desktop. Please let me know how to activate the OS again.

    Yes it could be happen after replacing the motherboard. So you can do is what you just re install the windows to overcome with this issue. Only Re installation can solve your problem. During installing windows make sure that you format the Drive C because it contain previously installed windows registry file. After this your window will activate normally.

    Hi,

    The trouble you are currently in needs a lot of attention.

    First, install all motherboard softwares provided to you in a cd by manufacturers.

    Go to the CMOS setup by pressing F12,F5,F2,Del,Esq depending on manufacturer, and check the HDD or c:\ connectivity, ascertain that as primary drive Save and Exit.

    Now if the booting is on fine, else insert Windows in optical drive and boot from there and try to repair the installed Windows.

    Failing to which fresh installation is suggested.
