Windows 8 boots very slowly

Windows 8 is supposed to boot in seconds or so I read in most of the forums but in my PC windows 8 takes a good about 7 minutes to boot. Even when it is recovering from hibernation it takes a lot of time to boot. Why is it taking so much of time?

Hi,

What you have heard is true in sense that Windows 8 is such a program which is highly developed and booting time is one of the developedd idea.

Slow booting or so to say slow processing of any such program depends on a number of factors such as,

1. Windows is filled with a huge number of installed apps and programs which need to load them all at the time to start up.

2. HDD space crunch can affect the page file size, which in turn effect the processing time.

3. Lack of primary memory the RAM can cause the slow operation.

4. The display card or the onboard chipset sometimes infringes with Windows own driver software to create slow progression.

5. If any hardware is in bad order or not functioning well speed can be hampered.

So you should check those points and take adequete steps.

Thanks.

Dear Friend!!
Windows 8 have some specifications to be matched for the processor.
You should have processor of speed greater then 1.2 GHz and 2 GB RAM.
Even if the processor is 1.2 GHz, it takes time to boot.
You should very first run a boot scan by your antivirus.
And try to upgrade the processor as well as RAM.
And you should install DirectX 11.0 or higher version.

========================

Hi friend,
Hope you are in good health and good state of mind!
It's always a treat and fun to answer your queries.
I also appreciate the confidence that you have shown in us!

See,the requirements for Windows 8 is as follows-

Windows-8 system requirements 64-bit (x64)-
CPU with 1 GHz
20 GByte Hard disk space
2 GByte RAM
DirectX-9 graphics Card

Windows-8 system requirements 32-bit (x86/x32)-
CPU with 1 GHz
16 GByte Hard disk space
1 GByte RAM
DirectX-9 graphics Card

The reason why you are facing this problem is that you don't have RAM left to run processes.
That is why your system is taking time in executing every process,be it booting or any other process.
I will recommend you to increase the RAM of your system!

I hope I have answered all your doubts.
It was a pleasure answering your queries.
Hope that you'll come up with some more challenging queries!
Till then,take care.
Bye!

Open Run Window by pressing Windows + R-> Type msconfig-> press Enter. Now set radio button to Selective Startup(see screenshot for details).

2. Now navigate to the Service tab and disable all unnecessary applications to decrease the booting time of your machine. Because, it will then require less number of tasks to start your machine. If you are confused, then it is better to check “Hide all Microsoft services” option and then disable unnecessary services from the list.
