Windows 8 not able to Recognize Graphics card after a system Restore

I am using windows 8 from 1 month. Due to some unavoidable reasons, system restore was needed in my system so I made a successful system restore but now, windows 8 operating system is not showing the Graphics card in the specification field. I want to inform you that I have NVIDIA Geforce 8600M GT - 256 MB GDDR2 VRAM Graphics card. Why it is not showing in windows 8 device specification. Is there any problem in my Graphics card.

    My dear friend,
Microsoft hasn't launched the final version of windows 8 yet.It is still in the testing phase.Windows 8 does not release the drivers for graphics card and printers etc.It is not fully functional ,thats why it is called release preview.wait for some time and you will be able to all the stuff you want to do..

No there is no problem with your graphics card its the problem with the drivers.
The Actual problem is with the system restore. when a system is restored to any previous date the files that were created after the restore point and the software that were installed after that time will be deleted or in a simple language undo.

So i think you might have got the same problem and you might have installed the drivers for your system after the restore point so the os has removed or undo the drivers and now you cannot have the drivers

So the solution for this problem is to install the drivers back on your system and your problem will be solved.
Be careful while restoring your computer in future .Take all the files backup and restore.

You have another solution for your problem that is to undo the restoration. you have that option in the system restore.so you can choose any of your choice.

    Hello,

Buddy the graphics you mentioned will not be showed by windows 8 because it has a DDR2 vram.
The new windows 8 support DDR3 vram.
This is a consumer preview so there can be an issue , if you want you can always dual boot your computer with windows 7 and do your stuff.

During restore some files must be deleted in order to revert the process.
You can repair the windows 8 by running the OS file once again in the windows itself.
It will repair the problems detected by copying the damaged files
If this doesnt help you consider reinstalling the OS.
Try to use windows easy transfer for backup files.

    Hello,

There has been a lot of issues with the windows 8 not detecting the graphics card after the system restore.
You can try installing the older version graphic card drivers.
If they still are unable to detect the card than you can install windows 7 and than instal the drivers.
As this is a beta version these kind of errors tends to happen but it wont be a problem in the full windows 8 OS .

    Regards

    Hi,

The Windows 8 beta being under trial is having few bugs and thus not functioning in total,,which will be solved in complete and final version.

Anyway On hardware level unmount the Graphics Card fron the slot and remount it.

    Reconnect all connectors.

Update drivers for Graphic Card and Reboot.

    Check the status.

    Thanks.
