Windows 8 not recognizing the connected Sony Handycam DCR-HC37

Am trying to connect my Sony Handycam DCR-HC37 with my new Windows 8 machine so as to import pictures from handycam to system but the system not recognizing the connected device. I have already installed the USB driver of the Sony Handycam DCR-HC37 on my Windows 8 machine but seems no use.

    Hello friend,

I have the solution for your problem just do as i say................................

1.Firstly you need to install the Handy-cam drivers in your system.

2.If you have installed them before then this can be the problem of the version of it.

3.So you try to update them to the latest version of it.

4.If still you have the problem then it is the problem of the USB drivers.

5.So you try to update them or Roll Back to solve this problem.

    Have a nice day...............................

As you have suggested that you have installed the USB Driver for Sony , but was that driver compatible to Windows 8?

    Click Start--Control panel--System and security--device manager--USB controller--Driver--Uninstall,
    Remove the existing driver.
Now from the Sony Companion disk, install Windows 8 compatible driver,
If that is not found there, log into Sony Official Website and download the driver from there and install that.

That will solve the problem, if the cable and connector or the USB Port is not an issue.

    Try that.
