    Hello Dude!!!

_Yes Windows 08 is Power Efficient_

    • One of the Main Focus on Developing Windows 8 is Power Efficient on Applications so that the Device has Long Battery Life,
    • It will Suspend Inactive Applications to Save Battery Life through Metro Application,
    • When the App is not in the screen the Screen will Turn Off Automatically to save power,
    • Those above are done by app called Connected Standby.

yes the windows phones that are made are specially taken care so that they consume less power.
but this is not possible to a larger extent because of the applications that they support consume a lot of battery life.
a large number of metro applications will apply the rule that: when the app is not on the screen and the screen is off, the app wont consume any battery.

Re: Is windows 8 power efficient?

Yes, I would recommend Windows 8 version as a comparatively power efficient one. Since there are a whole lot of new options in windows 8 and also there is a touch screen compatibility too, you would not although get a high power efficiency. But in comparison to the previous versions you will see that this version is much more useful one when it comes to power saving. I would recommend the WinRT version to you in this regard. Here you will have less battery consumption for more work on your personal computer.
Now you must have heard of the terms like process scheduling, resource utilization when you work on multiple applications on the desktop. Now in the previous versions, resource utilization would consume a lot of battery due to sometimes unnecessary indulgence and processor usage in this respect. What happens in windows 8 is that though you are using the multiple applications in the same way as you did before but the unnecessary resource utilization is minimized. Thus the processor could use its resources for some other purpose and consume less power. So if you want to introduce windows 8 in your laptop please go ahead as and when it is properly launched in the market.

    Dear,

The new version of window which is window 8 is very user friendly is very power efficient. the consumption of the power by the computer depends on the settings of the operating system. when you are not working in the machine for a long time and if the machine is in ON mode then it will automatically go in the sleep mode to save the power consumption. So it is very user friendly and are very power efficient while on use.

    Hello,
Yes the main aim of developing new OS versions is to make them more power efficient.

So in that case they have to be power efficient.
In windows 8 the apps which are running in the background do not go in the suspended state.
So when you have to switch from your main app to previous app less time and power is required in the switching task .
Some other important features of windows 8 are:
    1)Enhanced Multi Monitored feature
    2)Touch screen interface
    3)Fast Peformance
    4)Enhanced and fast startup
    5)Visual pictorial locking system
    6)In built anti virus

Re: Is windows 8 power efficient?

    Dear Friend,

We can't say actually that Windows 8 is a Power Efficient OS.

Actually, it depends on how do you use your laptop.
That means, how much time you play games on your laptop, just use it for basic purpose, use internet.

If you play games on your laptop your battery standby time will generally decrease your laptop's battery life.

How much applications you use at one time, this also matters for battery life.

You can extend your battery life till some level, by using external power saving software's.

    Hope you understand.
