Windows Boot Manager shows 6 Boot Options but only One seems to work? How to Remove useless Boot options from the boot manager?

There was 4 drives in my PC namely- A,B,C and D. Windows 7 was installed in Partition C which still works fine.Then I tried to install windows 8 in Partition D but the installation process stopped in middle so I tried again to complete the same process again and again 5 time on the same drive after formatting it every time but the installation process failed to complete every time. Now my windows Boot Manager shows 6 boot options which includes 5 windows 8 and at last 1 windows 7 which only works.Since only one option is working for me, I want to remove all useless options from the boot manager so what is the process for the same?

You said that windows 7 is still working on your PC so follow the following steps in order to remove useless boot options from your boot manager:

> Open Run command by simply clicking Windows key + R
> Enter msconfig in the Run command.
> System Configuration window will open.
> Click on Boot Tab there.
> Select the OS which you want to delete from your Boot Manager. Before deleting Make sure that no any Option is set to default.
> Now Delete your desired option after selecting it.
> Check the Box which shows “ Make all boot settings permanent “ and click “Ok”.
> Click “Yes” to confirm.
> Click on “Restart” button to Apply the setting.You will not see those useless options now.

hii, it is simple..........

just install windows xp os..............then the boot screens will be disappear.......

after installing..........then if you want to change your windows xp........

then start windows 8 installation from reboot screen........that means start installation when system is restarted..............

it will surely help............

You can do it in MSCONFIG
In search type msconfig and press enter
In the new window click on the boot.
Now it shows the list of boot options available.
In that select the one that you are using and click on set default.

To solve ur problem u have to install a 3rd party software witch is called Easy BCD.u can download this software from this link:http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/.../EasyBCD.shtml
After download this software install it.and follow this stapes:

• Open the app.
  
• in the "Add/remove enters"tab u can see 5 windows 8 and 1 windows 7 OS.

• Now removing all the 5 windows 8 by select the OS and press delete button.
• Now click on Microsoft windows 7 and make duffel.
• Now restart ur pc..
  

DONE!!!!!!!

Follow these steps to remove useless Boot options from the boot manager-

Click on the Start button.

Type RUN in the search box & click on the RUN icon to open it up.

Type msconfig in the edit field & press OK.

System Configuration window will appear-now select the Boot tab.

Select the Operating System you want to delete & click on OK to delete it (But make sure that no other option is set to default).

Put a tick in the box beside 'Make all boot settings permanent' option.

Click on Apply & OK to proceed.

Now restart your machine to see the changes.
