Windows Search unable to find files and folders

Just a simple search of file inside a folder is not able to do in my Windows 7 search which is there by default. Why it’s like this? Is it some bug in Windows 7 itself? Can someone give me some workaround if it is there to fix the issue? It’s really becoming difficult to search for files now in my Windows system.

Re: Windows Search unable to find files and folders

Usually the Windows search goes for a toss if there is some issue with the indexing. The best thing which can be done for fixing this issue is to rebuild the indexing which is done in your Windows 8 OS. Just follow the below mentioned steps for attaining it,

STEP 1: Open the Run windows (Windows key + R).

STEP 2: Type rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL srchadmin.dll in the run window -> Select OK which will open up the indexing options window.

STEP 3: Now select the Advanced button.

STEP 4: Now from the Advanced Options window -> Select Rebuild button which is in Delete and rebuild index option.

STEP 5: A confirmation message will be asked for rebuilding the index -> Select OK for that.

STEP 6: Now once the process is completed you can try searching the files and folders which should probably work without any issues now.
