Windows Vista keeps on displaying Error 1500 while downloading a program

Every time I try to download a program into my laptop running on Windows Vista, I will get error code 1500 along with a message saying “Another Installation is in Progress you must complete the installation before continuing this one”. Due to that, I can never complete the downloading process. Is there any solution available for this problem?

You can resolve this problem by performing a clean boot on your laptop. Click on the ‘Start’ button for that and type msconfig into the search box visible on the start menu. Then, press the ‘Enter’ key to view the ‘System Configuration Utility’ window. After that, you may be prompted to enter the password or provide confirmation. You can either type in the password or click on ‘Continue’ option during this time. Then, click on ‘Selective Startup’ after pressing the ‘General’ tab. Uncheck the checkbox appears next to ‘Load Startup Items’ label under ‘Selective start up. Press the ‘Service’ tab afterwards and click on the checkbox near ‘Hide All Microsoft Services’ label. After that, hit the ‘Disable All’ button and press the ‘OK’ button. When you get the prompt message, click on the ‘Restart’ button.
