Windows Vista laptop tend to freeze intermittently

My laptop used to freeze up suddenly in between running programs in it. When I restart the laptop, it will go to welcome screen without any problem. After that, it will freeze as before. I tried to open task manager and got the error message “Log on process has failed to create the security options dialog”. How can I resolve this issue?

While you restart your laptop, select the ‘Safe mode’ from the boot screen by moving the arrow key. Then, you need to run the check disk for fixing up the issue. For that, first click the ‘Start’ button and select ‘Computer’ option from the start menu. Choose the hard drive you want to check and right click on it. Select ‘Tools’ tab and click the ‘Check Now’ option under ‘Error-Checking’. Provide the administrator password or confirmation if prompted and select ‘Automatically fix file system errors’ option for fixing up the issues. To start the scan process, choose ‘Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors’ option. Once the process gets finished, check whether the issue gets resolved or not.
