Windows Vista PC not connecting to the network automatically

I had done a factory reinstall on my Windows Vista PC and had done the updates for Windows also. Since then the network is not getting connected and needs to be configured each time. How can this be solved?

Re: Windows Vista PC not connecting to the network automatically

are you using LAN connection or Wireless Connection?

    Steps for network troubleshooting:

Make sure all cables and connection are proper
right-clicking the network icon in the notification area,
    Open Network Diagnostics click on
    Diagnose and repair.
it will renew your IP address and domain name setting
    and will solve your problem

    another way :
    click the Start button ,
    click on Control Panel,
----> clicking on Network and Internet,
---->clicking on Network and Sharing Center,
---->and then clicking Manage network connections.
    Repair
    it will solve your problem

set TCP/IP properties to automatic so it will take auto ip address
