Windows XP denying “Delete” Permissions but allow Save

My PC runs in Windows XP, which denies "Delete" permission for unwanted files. How to resolve this issue?

    Hi,

To avail full control over the file system you can do this:

Granting all the users and groups, following NTFS security permission and it can fullfill your expectation.

Right-click on the file and select "properties".

    Click "Security" tab, click "Advanced".

Uncheck the checkbox "Allow inheritable permissions from the parent to propagate to this object and all child objects, Include these with entries explicitly defiend here, and Remove.

Add group with the following rule.

    Select to "Allow" all permission.

    Thanks.

    Hello !!

you did not mentioned the type of file and its location.
the file which you are thinking to be useless might be system file.
because generally, system files are having restriction on their deletion and editing.
so first be sure that the file you are going to delete is local files or system files.

hope you are clear with my statement.

    Instructions

      • 1Click on the "Start" button and select "Run."

      • 2Type "cmd" into the run dialog box to open a new command-line interface window.

      • 3Find the exact path of the file you want to delete and make note of it.

      • 4Type "del c:\path" into the command-line interface, replacing "c:\path" with the exact file path of the file you want to delete.

      • 5Press the "Enter" key to confirm the delete command. Windows will now automatically delete the specified file, as long as it exists at the given location.
